Lipscomb Academy advanced to the state championship game with a resounding 35-0 win over visiting Davidson Academy Friday night.

The Mustangs came out fast and furious scoring on the first drive of the game as Alex Broome broke loose for a 58 yard touchdown run. Luther Richeeson threw a nine yard pass to Beau Dawson for a second score in the first quarter.

Alex Broome scored again in the second quarter to send the Mustangs into halftime up 21-0.

Richeeson and Broome each scored once in the third and in the fourth quarter to end the game 35-0.

The Mustangs had 403 total yards offense while holding Davidson Academy to only 48 yards offense.  Richeeson threw 18 of 27 for 227 yards and two touchdowns.  Broome rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns.

Lipscomb Academy will face off against cross town rival CPA for the TSSAA State Title at 11:00 AM EST on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at UT Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium.
