It was a dark night at Davidson Academy as Lipscomb Academy rolled in to defeat the Bears on their home field 54-20.
The Mustangs pulled out to a quick 7-0 lead when Luther Richeeson connected to Beau Dawson for a 53 yard touchdown about half way through the first quarter. Carlin Walker drove in for another score with a little over a minute left in the first quarter.
[Best_Wordpress_Gallery id=”109″ gal_title=”LA-DA”]Lipscomb Academy added 34 points in the second half. Richeeson passed for one TD to Alex Broome and ran in for two more. The Mustangs AJ Coleman recovered a fumble on the 3 yard line and scored. Alex Broome also rushed for a touchdown in the second. The Mustangs entered halftime up 48-7.
Luther Richeeson connected with Alex Broome for a 55 yard TD in the third for the Mustnags last score of the night.
Lipscomb Academy had 402 total yards offense in 31 plays. They passed for 157 yards and rushed for 245. Richeeson was 10-11 on the night. Top rushers for the Mustangs were Carlin Walker with 87 yards and one touchdown, Alex Broome with 60 yards and one touchdown, Kamarion Ward with 37 yards, and Luther Richeeson with 36 yards and two touchdowns.
