Middle Tennessee dropped their seventh consecutive game with a 79-75 loss to the Thundering Herd from Marshall Thursday night at Murphy Center.
Middle trailed at half 39-32 and fell into a double digit deficit early in the second quarter. They battled to pull to within four late in the game.
“It just seemed like every time we made a run, they made a big basket,” MTSU head coach Nick McDevitt said. “The crowd gets into it … then they burry a 3-pointer. That’s where you just have to have a little bit of toughness about you and keep playing.”
Middle’s leading scorer was C.J. Jones with 21 points followed by Donovan Sims with 18.
