Centennial High started the game with Shelbyville on a strong note, driving most of the distance of the field, but could not score when in the red zone. Shelbyville later capitalized on a Cougar fumble to draw first blood.

By half time Shelbyville was up 14-7. On what looked like it was going to be a long pass putting the Cougars in scoring position Shelbyville stripped the ball from Kevin Townsel to intercept the pass inside the 10 yard line.

In the second half the Cougars outscored the Golden Eagles 10-6, but it was not enough to pull off the win.

Centennial plays cross town rival, Franklin, at home next Friday, October 4.
